Film LanguageEtre Et Avoir is filmed on a tripod (static) and mostly long shot but does have a few mid shots. The editing is quite slow as it focus's on one cut for quite a while before it changes.

Nanook of the North 1922

Throughout the whole clip there is only one shot used this is a long shot. This shot dominates the whole clip and there is no variety of different shots. The camera would have been put on a tripod as it would have been to big for it to be hand held. Editing would probably have not been invented as media language would not have been invented at this time, therefore people would have not thought about doing it.
Documentary Techniques
In this particular clip there are no interviews as it would have been a trial run with the camera. There is no voice over as this was one of the first cameras invented so they wouldn’t have thought about putting sound on it at this point. We are not aware of the documentary maker as they focus on the people walking by and we do not hear any voice as there is no voice over.
Sound
There is no sound in the whole clip.
The Documentary.
All that is filmed in this clip is normal everyday people walking by. This would have been a trial run with the camera so nothing special would have been filmed. There is nothing that compares to any other genre because it was the first piece of film ever made. The audience for this would have been everybody because they would all be intrigued to see it as it is something new.
